What is Teams?

Microsoft Teams is a chat and video call-based collaboration app, complete with document sharing. At Manchester Met, we use Teams for collaborating with our teams and on projects, and for online learning.

‘Teams’ are basically discussion groups for different Units, made up of separate ‘Channels’. If a Course or Unit is taught online, you will have a ‘Team’ for each Unit where you can discuss topics and collaborate on documents with other students who are in your study group. Your tutors may use the video meeting features of Microsoft Teams to run online classes that you can join.
