Apply for your visa

Once you have secured a place to study at Manchester Metropolitan University, it’s time to start preparing your visa application. In most cases, you’ll need to apply for a Student visa. This guide provides essential information about the UK Student visa requirements.

What is a Student visa?

When you’ve been offered a place on a course, you can begin preparing to apply for a Student visa to study in the UK. You will usually need a Student visa if one of the following scenarios applies:

  • You are joining a full-time course at Manchester Metropolitan University.
  • You have already enrolled and need more time to complete your course than initially expected.
  • You are taking on a Students’ Union sabbatical role.

If you’re unsure whether you need a visa or which type you require, please check our visa and immigration guidance before applying.

We also recommend reviewing guidance made available by the UK Council for International Student Affairs (UKCISA).
