Please note: when printing in black and white from a Mac, you must use a mono printer. If you print from a colour printer, you will be charged for a colour print.

Wide format printers
Wide format printing (sometimes referred to as ‘large format printing’) is calculated by square foot rather than by page. Indicative costs involved in printing your own work on the wide format printers are given below.

Top up your print credit
Students pay for printing online:
- Go to the PaperCut Portal
- Log in with your student ID number (i.e. 21345678) and password
- On the left hand menu, click ‘Add Credit’
- Select the amount to add from the drop down list
- Credit will be added to your account
NB: Use your ID card to ‘unlock’ campus printers - not your Met Card.

‘Print credit too low’ error
If you see this error, and you know you’ve got enough credit, please contact the IT Helpline.
Print refunds
Refunds are considered on a case-by-case basis.
You may be entitled to a refund if:
- You’ve accidentally credited too much to your account
- Something outside of your control has damaged your printing.
In these cases, please contact the contact the IT Helpline.
Credit remaining at the end of your course
If you have finished your studies, no longer need to print and you have more than £5 on your printing account, you can contact the Finance Service Centre, fsc@mmu.ac.uk, for a refund. All refunds are considered on a case-by-case basis and if approved will be made back to the original source of payment, i.e. if you topped up your print account online via a debit card, we will credit the funds back to your debit card. Please note, you do not have to provide your card details. The Finance Service Centre team will contact you if further details are required to be able to process your refund.
