Learn how to understand why businesses and consumers want, need, buy or use a particular product or service.
Do you have a background in marketing, or an interest in joining a rapidly developing area of marketing and business? Open to graduates from any discipline, or professionals looking to pursue a niche area of marketing, this course will give you the best knowledge and skills in order to make your mark and succeed in your future career.
During the course your core modules will teach you the basics in marketing communications and business to business marketing. You’ll then have the opportunity to study bespoke modules that will expand your knowledge in a rapidly growing area. These will include market research and analytics, decision making and data visualisation and digital measurement and evaluation.
A key feature of our course is the live client brief module, here you’ll have...
1 year full-time
2 years with internship (September start)
Market researchers and analysts help brands and businesses to understand consumer and business behaviour and inform decision making, to produce optimal results.
You’ll study a range of marketing-based units such as business to business marketing, marketing communications and the marketing professional. These units will introduce you to topics such as relationship marketing, market sector analysis and integrated campaigns, as well as giving you exposure to working with industry and developing your own identity as a marketer.
Your applied marketing research and analytics unit will introduce you to techniques used to analyse and display data and to explore markets, customer attitudes and new business ideas. You’ll also study two digital-focused units that allow you to explore how to effectively measure and evaluate campaigns and to make decisions based upon data.
During your course, you will also complete a live client brief. This is your opportunity to work in a group with a client on a real business challenge. You will work on a brief and will be required to set objectives, complete research and to present your recommendations to the client. This unit is a fantastic opportunity for you to develop your skills and build your professional portfolio for when you’re applying for a job.
Towards the end of your studies, you will complete an applied research proposal and project. You’ll identify a complex issue that interests you, likely related to market research and analytics, complete research and present your conclusions and findings in a final report. This is a professional piece of work that you can highlight on your CV and could inform the type of career or sector you would like to go in to. It could also inspire you to continue your interest by completing a PhD.
