About the Manchester Met Institute for Children's Futures
We’ll be launching the new Institute for Children’s Futures in Autumn 2024. Discover more about our plans for the institute and how you can get involved.
Research driving change
The Institute for Children’s Futures will harness our existing expertise and research strengths. These include areas relating to children and young people, and the education and training of the children’s workforce.
This cross-university institute will respond to the rising local, national and global concerns for children’s lives, experiences and futures.
Our aim is not just to understand the changing worlds of children and childhood but to make a real difference for children and their families in the UK and internationally.
Our partnerships
Inclusion and co-production will be at the heart of what we do, ensuring children and young people’s voices are integral to our work. We’ll work closely with local, national and international partners including:
- Greater Manchester Combined Authority
- Manchester City Council
- police authorities
- civic and third sector organisations in health and social care
- other academic bodies
- policy makers
- practitioners
