Report and Support
You can report an incident of sexual violence, harrassment or a hate crime incident online using the University’s Report and Support system. If you provide your contact details, a member of our team will be in touch within one working day to provide support and advice. You can also choose to report anonymously if you wish.
Manchester Metropolitan University recognises that incidents of sexual violence and misconduct take place within the University community (both on and off campus) and can be experienced by any individuals, regardless of their identity. The University further recognises that this is a serious issue, both within higher education, and within wider society as a whole.
Sexual violence and misconduct refers to a broad spectrum of behaviours forming part of other types of gender-based violence including, but not limited to, intimate partner violence or domestic abuse, coercive and/or controlling behaviour (online or face to face), and stalking (online or face to face).
Sexual violence and misconduct can affect the mental, physical and emotional wellbeing of members of our University community. It impedes access to educational, social and employment opportunities, and can cause lasting physical and psychological damage.
The University is committed to promoting a culture in which any incidents of sexual violence or misconduct will not be tolerated. All members of the community are expected to take an active role in ensuring that all interpersonal relationships and interactions are underpinned by mutual respect, open communication and clear consent.
Incidents of sexual violence and misconduct that are reported to the University will be thoroughly addressed to ensure the preservation of a safe work and study environment for all.
