Assessment
We can normally issue emergency support on the same day you contact us. It may take longer in complex cases, up to five working days. When you call, we will advise how long our decision is likely to take.
We assess each application using detailed assessment guidance. We have strict rules about what we can and cannot include in our assessments, so we may not be able to consider every cost in your application.
We will check your bank balance before providing support. If you are applying due to a specific event or cost, we may also ask for further evidence.
Once your application has been processed, we will email you a decision.
