We provide a range of flexible options for one-to-one support that is accessible for all enrolled students.
Academic and Study Skills Tutors can help you develop a whole range of academic and study skills, and certain technologies to support your learning. This includes, but is not restricted to, helping you to plan your first assignment and improve your time management or presentation skills, and providing feedback on your written drafts.
No query is too small and there is no such thing as a silly question. We offer advice and support through one-to-one appointments, or by answering your questions via email or telephone.
One-to-one Study Skills appointments
You can book a 30-minute one-to-one appointment with an Academic and Study Skills Tutor to discuss developing your skills, or to focus in more detail on your assignment. Appointments are available either in person or virtually, via Microsoft Teams, depending on your preference.
Your Academic and Study Skills Tutor can provide advice and strategies on a range of topics, for example, critical thinking, managing your time effectively, or incorporating evidence into paragraphs.
To book an appointment, please contact us by emailing [email protected] or phoning 0161 247 3330. To get the most from your one-to-one session, you may want to consider the following:
- How can I prepare for my one-to-one appointment?
- Can I bring the assignment I am writing to discuss?
- I would like an appointment now, and another next week. Can I book both at the same time?
In person appointments
For safety of both you and staff we also advise the following steps to be taken:
- You should not attend the appointment if you are feeling unwell or have any covid related symptoms.
- Contact us on 0161 247 3330 or via email ([email protected]) and your appointment can either be changed to an online appointment or can be rearranged for when you are feeling better.
