This module introduces students to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals through a focus on case studies and an understanding of the key concepts and the relationship to concerns such as climate change, poverty and sustainable development.
Financial management is a vital skill for all managers of profitable companies. Learn how to analyse financial statements, plan budgets and use financial data to plan, control and inform decision-making.
Students will develop applied business and marketing skills, learning how to recognise the importance of marketing as a role and function within a business environment.
Students will also gain an insight on the internal and external environmental factors that influence business decision-making and start to develop their own personal and professional journal.
Marketers need to understand the psychology of consumers and their buying behaviour. Namely, their perception, beliefs, attitudes and what influences them towards buying or not buying products and services.
This module reviews the evolution of HRM and introduces students to the key underpinning theories. It explores the employee life cycle including recruitment and selection, development, reward and recognition, performance management, wellbeing, engagement, diversity and inclusion, conflict and departures. The module highlights various influences both internal and external to the organisation, which shape HR policies and practices, such as labour markets, CSR, political environment and the legal framework and their implications on workforce planning.
An understanding of digital and social platforms and how they impact on today’s marketing environment is an important consideration for marketing students.
This module will facilitate idea generation using a range of creative thinking tools. The validity and feasibility of ideas will be tested through the process of market research

Study abroad
Instead of a placement, you’ll have the opportunity to spend up to a year overseas, studying with one of our partner institutions across Europe, or beyond. Gaining work experience with an international flavour offers a double benefit. While you’ll learn valuable professional skills in a real-world workplace, you’ll also experience different cultures, ways of working and new perspectives. You will study eight 15 credit units. Six of these are core modules and two are option units. Please note that the following list of modules is indicative and may be subject to change.
Students will develop applied business and marketing skills, learning how to recognise the importance of marketing as a role and function within a business environment. Students will gain insight on the internal and external environmental factors that influence business decision-making. Students will start to develop their own personal and professional profile across level 5 and 6, as well working with industry based clients and building a graduate portfolio of marketing and business work.
This module presents a systematic approach to the study of strategy, building upon an array of ideas and theories ranging from industrial organisation theory to institutional economics. This module outlines the fundamentals of strategic management and gives students an introduction in this important area of business management. Students will gain an awareness of the issues involved and the techniques that managers adopt. The tools and techniques will help students understand how organisations achieve sustainable competitive advantage.
Students will examine digital technology and its impact on the marketing mix including organisational strategies and consumer facing activities offering a deeper understanding of the connection between marketing and digital technology.
This module builds on the grounding from 'Global Concerns In Sustainable Development' and critiques the role of Multi-National Organisations, Social Enterprises and the role of the state in the emergence of Responsible Enterprise as a movement to address global issues for people and planet.
This module will manage a project exploring concepts of social innovation through an entrepreneurial process. Using a problem-based approach, students will develop innovative solutions to address a given social or community issue and create positive social impact.
Understanding how to appraise and apply research methods is a critical skill for undergraduates and this knowledge will be developed through this module.

This module aims to develop student’s research skills through a rigorous understanding of enterprise and social enterprise in the 21st Century, building knowledge from both policy and practice. Key topics of the module includes: entrepreneurs in the business context, the entrepreneurial process, characteristics of the entrepreneur, business in context, and the ethical and social issues in enterprise and business.
Students undertake a substantial project based on work experience or academic research.
Digital marketing is now universal in marketing therefore it is crucial for students to have knowledge and understanding of how technology can sustain a competitive advantage. Students will gain detailed understanding of how to manage campaigns using various digital devices and new platforms.
This module aims to help students become responsible leaders by developing the critical tools and moral imagination required to analyse and manage the ethical and sustainability challenges they are likely to encounter in the workplace.
Develop your online personal and professional profile to support your future career in business and marketing. You will further develop your industry insight, creative thinking and awareness of behavioural expectations in a professional environment.
This module builds on the tools and techniques from Principles of Strategic Management (Level 5), and is concerned with the strategic choices available to organisations to achieve competitive advantage in a global economy. The managerial decisions, processes and activities, that allow the creation and implementation of an effective global strategy are discussed and reflected-upon through a combination of theories and real-world case studies. This module explains that strategic management is the one of the most imperative considerations in the global economy. Organisations and managers can no longer base their strategies on the assumption that global markets will remain stable with steady growth.

Full-time fee: £9,250 per year. This tuition fee is agreed subject to UK government policy and parliamentary regulation and may increase each academic year in line with inflation or UK government policy for both new and continuing students.
Full-time fee: £20,000 per year. Tuition fees will remain the same for each year of your course providing you complete it in the normal timeframe (no repeat years or breaks in study).
A degree typically comprises 360 credits, a DipHE 240 credits, a CertHE 120 credits, and an integrated masters 480 credits. The tuition fee for the placement year for those courses that offer this option is £1,850, subject to inflationary increases based on government policy and providing you progress through the course in the normal timeframe (no repeat years or breaks in study). The tuition fee for the study year abroad for those courses that offer this option is £1,385, subject to inflationary increases based on government policy and providing you progress through the course in the normal timeframe (no repeat years or breaks in study).
All of the books required for the programme are available from the University library. The University also has PC labs and a laptop loan service. However, many students choose to buy some of the core textbooks for the course and/or a laptop.
Students may also need to print their assignments and other documents. Campus printing costs start from 5p per page. Estimated costs are £300 for a laptop, and up to £100 each year for books and printing.
The University will usually cover the costs to attend visit days with local business organisations. These visits are optional. Where field trips are necessary, costs would not exceed £500.
