Our pledge
Our core aims and values
We’ll:
- create safe spaces and champion inclusive sport, fitness and health
- promote opportunities for staff and students to engage in sport, fitness and health activities
- continue to foster a sense of belonging, and help build meaningful relationships between students and between staff, through the development of internal programmes of activity
- empower students to make their own change and influence key decision makers in the University through campaigning and other representative functions
- increase engagement from our students and staff with our participation programmes
- understand our customers better
- deliver a coherent marketing and communications approach
- expand and develop student volunteering and personal development opportunities
- create opportunities for students’ personal development through academic departments
- provide a seamless pathway between our participation programmes, local community clubs and our sports clubs
- pledge continued commitment to clean sport via enhanced UK Anti-Doping workshops
- significantly expand our intra-mural programme
- develop a ‘fit-for-purpose’ model for our sports clubs
- build our reputation as a sporting university
- develop meaningful partnerships with performance sport organisations
- develop Manchester Met as an athlete friendly university.
