Manchester Met Basketball club gives you a unique experience to join one of the leading basketball programmes in the UK.

Manchester Met Basketball is one of our performance sports. This provides an integrated pathway with the area’s top basketball clubs - Manchester Giants (BBL and WBBL),  Magic (NBL1) and Manchester Basketball Club (NBL 3).

The University has a strategic partnership with Manchester Giants and support player pathways into the BBL and WBBL leagues. We have three men’s and one women’s team who compete in the BUCS league. Our men’s 1st and Women team are currently competing in the BUCS Premier Division - the highest level of the university sport pyramid.

As a basketball player, you’ll also have use of our outstanding facilities at the home of MMU Sport, Platt Lane Sports Complex. The complex is a Basketball England regional talent hub which is an initiative that supports clubs, players, coaches, officials, volunteers and partners to get the most from basketball.
