Manchester Met Swimming is one of our performance sports, which provides an integrated pathway alongside the City of Manchester Swim team (CoMAST). This pathway is the first Swim England Performance Centre and is supported by British Swimming and British Para-Swimming.
BUCS level
The swim club competes in all BUCS competitions as well as hosting various external galas.
The team had a track record of success and have helped swimmers deliver at the highest level including Olympic finals, Paralympic Champions as well as medallists at the Commonwealth Games, World Championships, World University and European Championships.
The team is based at the Commonwealth Games facility in the city centre and is a Swim England Performance Centre. Man Met students in recent years have gone onto represent the country at major games level and the unique partnership between the University, The Swim Team and the City means that duel career pathways are strong and supported.
As a result of this partnership, the University Swim Team has moved from being outside the top 50 team at BUCS level, to a consistent top 5 in the last few years.
