About Futsal
Play for fun
If you don’t fancy the commitment of joining a team, then come along to Active Campus Futsal where you can turn up and play for fun.
It doesn’t matter if you’re an experienced player or have never played before, Active Campus is for everyone and all abilities. Our friendly sport co-ordinators will be on hand to welcome you and guide you through the session.
Join a league
If you want to play football in an environment that is fun, friendly and sociable but still has a competitive element to it, then our futsal campus league is for you.
Form a team with friends, flatmates or people from your course to compete against other teams within Manchester Met, the University of Manchester and the University of Salford. You’ll play in a structured league on Sundays at Sugden Sports Centre.

Join the club
Manchester Met Futsal has had great success in recent years, and gained promotion to BUCS Northern 1A in 2023/24. This year, they have introduced a second team for the first time in the club’s history.
The club train and play home fixtures at Platt Lane Sports Complex.
The club also have a strong relationship with Manchester Futsal Club, providing opportunities for students to play futsal outside of a university setting as well as within BUCS.
We also offer a futsal performance programme for successful applicants (information below.)
BUCS Level
- Men’s 1st Team - Northern 1A
- Men’s 2nd Team - Northern 4A
The men’s 1st team compete in weekly fixtures on a Wednesday whilst the 2nd team compete in a round robin style on Sundays.

Our Futsal performance programme gives you the opportunity to develop your skills as a player on and off the pitch, with access to a range of the following support services:
- Weekly team training sessions
- Weekly strength and conditioning session
- Performance analysis
- Nutritional support
- Lifestyle support
