About basketball at Manchester Met
Play for fun
If you don’t fancy the commitment of joining a team, then come along to Active Campus Basketball where you can turn up and play for fun.
It doesn’t matter if you’re an experienced player or have never played before, Active Campus is for everyone and all abilities. Our friendly sport co-ordinators will be on hand to welcome you and guide you through the session.
Join a league
If you would love to play basketball in a social but competitive environment then the Basketball Campus League is for you.
Play weekly fixtures on a Sunday at Sugden Sports Centre in a structured league environment and compete against other university teams at Manchester Met as well as teams from the University of Manchester and the University of Salford.
Join the club
Manchester Met Basketball is one of our performance sports. This provides an integrated pathway with the area’s top basketball clubs in the Manchester Giants (BBL), Manchester Magic (NBL 2).
BUCS level
Our teams compete in the following BUCS leagues:
- Men’s 1st team - Premier (North)
- Men’s 2nd team - Northern 2A
- Men’s 3rd team - Northern 3A
- Women’s 1st team - Premier (North)
