How to find a place to live

All our pre-sessional English courses can be studied on-campus, in Manchester. There are three types of accommodation available to you.

For five or 10-week courses, we recommend staying in halls of residence. If you’re studying our 20 or 30-week courses, please stay in private or homestay accommodation.

Halls of residence

If you need a place to live while you study, our Accommodation team will be here to help you. If you’re joining the five or 10-week courses, you’ll need to:

  1. register with the accommodation portal
  2. ask to book a room by emailing accommodation@mmu.ac.uk

Private accommodation

You can also contact our partner student housing service Manchester Student Homes. They can help you find a place to live with an accredited landlord, letting agency or private halls.

Hosts International

Homestay accommodation with a host family is a great way to learn more about the UK and to practise your English outside of the classroom.

We work with Hosts International, who arrange homestay accommodation. They are registered with the British Council and have over 180 homestay options in Manchester. All host families have English as the main language spoken in the home.

Please quote ‘Manchester Met Language Centre’ on your booking request. For more information and to book, visit Hosts International
