Pre-sessional English entry requirements, dates and fees
We offer a range of courses throughout the year to suit your needs, budget and skills. They’re designed to prepare you to start your degree, without having to take another IELTS test.
Your current IELTS level will determine which course you need to attend.
We also accept other English Language qualifications such as PTE (Pearson), TOEFL and Cambridge Certificate. For a full list, view our English language requirements.

Information for undergraduate pre-sessional English courses
IELTS 4.5 with no skill less than 4.0
- Course dates: 06 January 2025 – 29 August 2025
- Course length: 30-week course
- Fees: £11,000*
- This course is held on campus only.
IELTS 4.5 with no skill less than 4.5
- Course dates: 26 March 2025 – 29 August 2025
- Course length: 20-week course
- Fees: £7,500*
- This course is held on campus only.
IELTS 5.0 with no skill less than 5.0
- Course dates: 18 June 2025 – 29 August 2025
- Course length: 10-week course
- Fees: £4,000*
- This course can be taken online, or on campus.
IELTS 5.5 with no skill less than 5.5
- Course dates: 23 July 2025 – 29 August 2025
- Course length: 5-week course
