  • Reporting progress against our sustainable development goals

In 2015, the United Nations set out 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for 2030 that seek to address many of the world’s greatest challenges, known as the world’s agenda for sustainable development.

Universities are in a unique position to influence change that will progress towards achieving the UN SDGs, and global sustainable development beyond 2030. Manchester Met does this in many ways — through our education and research, our campus environment, practices, and our partnerships.

We report our progress against the SDGs through our annual Leadership in Sustainability Report.

Reporting our carbon emissions

As part of our annual review and reporting process, we collect a wide range of data to understand the full extent of our carbon impacts. In our annual sustainability statement, we provide an overview of our scope 1, 2 and 3 carbon emissions. The Scope 3 emissions report provides a detailed overview of our Scope 3 carbon emissions resulting from our business activities.
