About Carbon Literacy

We’ve delivered Carbon Literacy training to our staff and students since 2012 by working with the Carbon Literacy Project.

As the world’s first university to help students become Carbon Literate, we’re proud to be a bronze-accredited Carbon Literate Organisation (CLO). 

We’ve rolled out an ambitious, university-wide programme called the Carbon Literacy for Staff and Students (CL4SS) training model. It’s helped almost 3,000 staff and students achieve certification.

For further and higher education organisations, we’ve developed free Carbon Literacy Training Toolkits. More than 160 institutions in the UK and overseas have access to them.

We’re also committed to promoting climate awareness across our wider community. Our specialist team of consultants and trainers work with public and private sector partners to help their leaders and workforce become Carbon Literate.
