On this course we’ll support and prepare you for a successful career in management and consultancy. Our students join us from a variety of different sectors including healthcare, financial services, and the public sector – in the UK and internationally. Each theme in our course contributes to your career growth:
Organisational Strategy
This theme enables you to understand how businesses make informed decisions that align with their strategic goals. You’ll learn to analyse complex business situations and how to advise managers to choose the best course of action.
Management Consultancy
Here you’ll gain the ability to apply the theory and context of business consultancy to real client briefs. You’ll learn how to plan, execute and oversee how teams work to deliver efficient consultancy projects.
Financial Planning
Understanding financial concepts is key to any managerial role. This theme provides you with the knowledge to make or advise organisations on how to make sound financial decisions, manage budgets and understand financial reports.
Marketing
You’ll learn how effective marketing strategies fit in with overall management and resource planning.
Innovation and Sustainability
Every management role in the future will need to drive innovation and champion sustainability. Our course prepares you to advise and lead organisations towards sustainable practices and innovative solutions.
Capstone Consultancy Project
This project introduces a real-world client and project for you to work on where you’ll apply the skills and knowledge you’ve gained throughout the course. This hands-on groupwork experience solidifies your learning and collaborative skills, and will boost your confidence.
Rise with Manchester Met
Rise is a programme available to all students at Manchester Met giving you the opportunity to earn practice credits on your degree through employment-enhancing activities. During your studies you can collect points for the activities you engage in and if you engage in enough activity you could receive recognition on your degree transcript.
Postgraduate students can get involved in activities such as project work, workshops, volunteering and certifications. For example, you could gain certifications with Microsoft, Adobe and the Project Management Institute free of charge. Not only are these fantastic to have on your CV but they are also transferable to a wide range of careers.
All Rise activities are organised according to themes of Digital Capabilities, Self-Effectiveness, Sustainability, Internationalisation, Enterprise and Civics. Completing a number of activities within a certain theme will also earn you micro-accreditations in the form of Digital Badges.

You’ll need a UK honours degree – at least a 2:2 – or the international equivalent in a non-business-related subject. We also welcome applications from students who have significant experience of business and management theory or practice, or the international equivalent.

Full-time fee: £10,750 per year. Tuition fees will remain the same for each year of your course providing you complete it in the normal timeframe (no repeat years or breaks in study).

Optional estimate: £1850
Students who choose to complete an optional internship year will be required to pay an additional fee. The Internship year fee is estimated at £1,850 for all students (UK, EU and Channel Islands, as well as Non-EU international students).
Students can choose to gain an extra qualification with the IOEE alongside their degree. This is an optional cost in addition to course tuition fees.

The books, journals and other materials required for the course are available from the library, and as a sustainable campus we rely mostly on our virtual learning environment and digital documents. Therefore, you will need your own computer or laptop to successfully take part in the course activities.
Estimated costs are £300 for a laptop and up to £100 each year for books and printing. If required occasionally, campus printing costs start from 5p per page. The University has PC labs and a laptop loan service that support students with these costs.
