A fantastic inaugural Placement Awards Evening

Manchester Metropolitan University hosted the inaugural Placement Awards Evening at The Union, celebrating the outstanding achievements of students during their placement year. The event recognised students who were nominated by their placement employers for their exceptional contributions and accomplishments.
Students, employers and staff joined us for an evening to recognise the hard work and dedication of the nominees and the exceptional efforts of our employer partners.
Michael Dobson, Employer Partnership Manager in the Careers Service said:
We’re so grateful to everyone who attended to make this evening so special. A big thank you to all representatives of the organisations who attended.
The highlight of the evening was the announcement of the winners across seven categories, including the Placement Student of the Year 2024.
The winners for each category were:
- Sustainability Champion Award: Leo Campen
- Excellence in Digital Innovation: Danielle Leyland
- Most Enterprising Student: Freja Armstrong
- Impactful Project Award: Matthew Clark
- Outstanding Contribution to Employer Award: Oluwafunmilayo Bilikisu Aliyu
- Autonomous Achiever Award: Elle Stone
- Placement Student of the Year: Amar Mohammed
