Bonfire Night Events in Greater Manchester
Manchester City Council events have been cancelled again this year, but there are still some free and paid for events on offer in Greater Manchester this Bonfire Night. Here are the top Bonfire Night events taking place in and around the city:
Buile Hill Park Firework Event
Once again, Buile Hill Park will be hosting their trio of firework displays from 5.30pm ‘til 7.30pm, as well as a Funfair, Fire walk, marshmallow toasting and more. There will be no bonfire at this year’s event to reduce their carbon footprint and the associated pollution, which means more space in the park and a more visible firework show!
When: Saturday 2 November – gates open at 4 PM
Where: Eccles Old Road, Eccles, M6 8GL
To plan your journey, please use Transport for Greater Manchester’s webpage.
Prince’s Park Firework Event
If you’re after a more traditional bonfire night experience, then head over to Prince’s Park on Sunday 3 November. The Bonfire will be lit at 7pm with a fireworks display at 7:30pm, but there will also be a funfair, plus food and drinks available all evening.
When? Sunday 3 November – gates open at 4 PM
Where? Prince’s Park, Liverpool Road, Irlam, M44 6BJ

Freight Island Fireworks Extravaganza
The only city centre organised firework event is back at Freight Island, in Mayfield Park. This is the perfect event close to home, with three nights of spectacular fun! You can expect mulled wine, hot chocolate, and candy floss, as well as a firework display above the city skyline – set to music. Tickets are £12 and can be bought here.
When: 1, 2 and 3 November
Where: Freight Island, Depot Mayfield, M1 2PZ
Firework safety
We want you to have a safe and enjoyable Bonfire Night. Fireworks and fires reach extremely high temperatures, and it only takes a few seconds for them to burn through your clothes and skin. It’s important to follow the Firework Safety Code to ensure safety for you and those around you.
The Firework Safety Code states:
- Ideally attend an organised display
- Keep naked flames, including cigarettes, away from fireworks
- Never go back to an unlit firework
- Never put fireworks in your pocket
- Never throw fireworks
For more advice about firework safety, please visit the Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service webpage.
