If you’re looking for a place to grab lunch or a coffee, you don’t have to go very far! Campus has lots of great food and drink options, many of which offer deals, making it great for those on a budget.  

Here’s a breakdown of some of the best lunch spots on campus, perfect for grabbing a quick bite to eat between your lectures: 

10 Must-Try Coffee and Lunch Spots on Campus 

Hub Food Court – Business School 

Located at the far end of the south atrium in the Business School, the Hub Food Court has plenty of space to enjoy lunch with your friends! With five unique food counters on offer, you will be spoilt for choice in Man Met’s largest lunch spot. 

Two of the most popular counters in the Hub Food Court have been brought back (Loaded and Soup + Spud), plus three external vendors who you might have seen in famous locations across Manchester, such as Kargo Market. 

Jumsim – specialises in traditional and delicious Korean food, with vegan, vegetarian, and halal options. (V, VE, H – options available) 

Loaded – offers smash burgers and loaded fries with a variety of flavours and toppings. (V, VE, H – options available) 

Jerk Junction – aims to bring Caribbean cuisine to Manchester with their authentic jerk dishes. (V, H – options available) 

Thatziki – is an independent, family-run food business which serves classic Greek dishes such as Gyros. (V, VE, H – options available) 

Soup + Spud – has tasty, crispy jacket potatoes and hearty soups at great value. Perfect for a comfort lunch. (GF, V, VE – options available) 

Dalton Food Court  

Located on the ground floor of Dalton building, this food court has opened its doors to Man Met students for the first time!  

Customers can grab a drink from a barista café, or dine from the in-house deli counter or one of the new external vendors with popular locations across Manchester city centre. 

Deli Counter – has a selection of freshly handmade sandwiches, salads, pastries, filled jacket potatoes and hearty soups. (GF, V, VE, H – options available) 

Payal Indian Street Food – serves delicious curries, rice, chips, flatbreads and more – all made with fresh ingredients. (V options and fully Halal)  

Zayyan – offers authentic Middle Eastern shawarma and falafel dishes. (V options and fully Halal) 

Brooks Food Court  

The new revamped Brooks food court is located on the ground floor of Brooks building, sporting two new food counters and a barista café serving hot and cold drinks. 

Deli Counter – has a selection of freshly handmade sandwiches, salads, pastries, filled jacket potatoes and hearty soups. (GF, V, VE, H – options available) 

Themed Dish Counter – is a unique option for the food adventurous! Each day of the week will boast a brand-new menu from around the world. For semester one there will be Italian, American, Asian, Indian, and British menus! 

Student lunch deals 

Our lunch spots on campus are designed with students in mind, and as a result we have multiple drink and meal deal options to help you maintain a healthy, tasty diet for less. 

Drink Deals 

  • Buy a bespoke Manchester Met reusable cup from Art School Café, Costa Café, John Dalton Kiosk, or The Grove and receive a 20p discount each time you purchase a hot drink. 

  • Buy a reusable Bottle Up water bottle from any of our café locations for £3.00. The bottles are made from sugar cane and come pre-filled with fresh spring water. 

  • Scan your McrMetFood app each time you purchase a hot drink and get your 11th one completely free! 

Breakfast Deals 

  • Get 1 breakfast item and a hot drink for £4.50, or £4.75 in Costa or Starbucks. Choose from an array of breakfast items in our fridges such as bacon or sausage barms, plus your favourite hot drink. 

  • Get 1 pastry and a 12oz hot drink for £4.25 in any of our outlets, excluding John Dalton Kiosk. 

Sweet Treat Deal 

  • Get a 12oz hot drink and a premium cake for £5.50, or a standard cake for £4.50. 

Meal Deals 

  • Standard Sandwich Deal – 1 selected sandwich, fruit or crisps, and a hot or cold drink for just £4.00. If you are visiting Starbucks or Costa there is a 50p charge on hot drinks to make it £4.50. 

  • Premium Meal Deal – Upgrade to a lunch wrap, panini, toastie or baguette with fruit or crisps, and a hot or cold drink for just £5.50. If you are visiting Starbucks or Costa there is a 50p charge on hot drinks to make it £6.00.
