STRIVE is launching on Rise from October 2024 and running until April 2025.

The STRIVE programme is packed full of workshops and activities, specifically designed to support students in achieving success at university. You can expect to gain valuable development and employability skills, as well as earning 300 Rise points upon successful completion.

Here’s a breakdown of what the course offers and how you can get involved:

What is STRIVE?

STRIVE is a comprehensive programme, which includes a range of courses aimed at enhancing both personal and professional development. The sessions will cover:

  • Personal Professional Development (PPD) – guidance about life and career skills.

  • Academic Coaching Excellence (ACE) – to help you improve your academic abilities.

  • Employment and Employability – resources and activities to boost your career readiness.

  • Health and Wellbeing – activities to support your mental and physical health.

What’s on Offer?

The STRIVE programme is designed to fit around your studies and will take as little as 50 hours of your time over the academic year. You can invest up to 100 hours (2-3 hours per week) by attending the scheduled workshops and events, which will boost your skills and keep you connected to the community.

In April 2025, the programme will conclude with a celebration event, including music, food, prizes, and certificates! STRIVERS will benefit from the following perks and opportunities during the course:

  • 1:1 Mentoring – to receive personalised guidance from senior mentors.

  • Free Social Events – for you to network with other STRIVERS and build your community.

  • Voluntary Virtual Internships – hosted by top businesses across a variety of industries.

  • 300 Rise Points – which can be converted into up to 30 extra credits on your transcript.
