Student life is busy and exciting, but it can also come with its challenges. That’s why we’ve made it easy for you to access the support you need, when you need it.

1. 24/7 Student Support Helpline

Whether you’re struggling emotionally and want to speak to a counsellor, or you want to find out a bit more about your options, the Spectrum.Life helpline is available 24 hours a day.

You will talk to qualified and experienced counsellors, who will work with you to assess your needs and ensure you receive the most appropriate help, whatever you’re experiencing.

2. Wellbeing Workshops

If you feel more comfortable in a group setting, why not attend one of our wellbeing workshops or courses. These sessions offer practical tips covering a wide range of topics, including tackling stress, anxiety, sleep problems, and much more.

If you can’t make the live sessions there are also plenty of wellbeing podcasts available for you, or request a 1-1 appointment with a member of the team.

3. Counselling, Mental Health and Wellbeing Service

You can request one-to-one appointments through our Counselling, Mental Health and Wellbeing Service by emailing: [email protected] or phoning 0161 247 3493.

You will be booked in for an initial assessment where a member of the team will assess your needs and recommend the most appropriate form of support.

Visit our Student Wellbeing pages to find out more.

4. Student Union Advice Centre

You can also reach out to your Student Union Advice Centre, where you can get free and confidential advice in a safe space. Their trained advisors can help with advice on academic, housing, student funding, debt, and money issues.

They also host drop-in sessions run by CGL (Change, Grow, Live), an independent organisation specialising in substance use issues, every Monday between 2pm – 4pm.
