Biography

Dr. Wenqi Lu is a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Artificial Intelligence at Manchester Metropolitan University. She was a Research Fellow at the Tissue Image Analytics (TIA) Centre at the University of Warwick, where she developed cutting-edge machine learning methods for cancer analysis in computational pathology. Prior to that, she earned her PhD from the University of Birmingham with a thesis titled Advanced Regularisation and Discretisation Methods in Diffuse Optical Tomography. Her PhD was funded by the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellowship under the European Union’s Horizon Europe framework program.

Dr. Lu’s research interests include medical image analysis, especially in computational pathology, and inverse models. She has published several papers on conferences and journals, such as Medical Image Analysis, The Lancet Digital Health, The Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AAAI), the IEEE/CVF Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition (CVPR).
