Biography
Who am I?
Michael is a Senior Fellow of the HEA, and a lecturer in Computer Science at Manchester Metropolitan University. Michael’s interests lie in using emerging technologies and techniques to deliver energy efficient performant computing (EEPC), and in the pedagogical aspects of teaching these topics. Michael runs the university’s Greener Compute Club and is PI of a recent UKRI grant investigating heterogeneous computing’s role in achieveing Net Zero. Michael previously taught at the University of Liverpool, was a research scientist at UKRI Hartree Centre, and ran a team of ~dozen people supporting all aspects of software & high performance computing for researchers at the University of Manchester.
