My profile

Biography

I completed an undergraduate in Psychology at the University of the Basque Country followed by a MRes in Neuroscience at the University of St Andrews.

Following that I underwent a PhD at the University of Manchester where I focused on studying the neuroimaging, cognitive and psychological factors involved underlying individual differences in pain perception.

Currently my main focus is on investigating the neuroscience of Parkinson’s Disease. Particularly I am using MRI, EEG and LFP measures to identify neuroimaging markers associated with cognitive and gait impairments in Parkinson’s disease.  Furthermore,  I am also involved in investigations using neuroimaging markers to study the link between sleep and neurodegeneration.

Interests and expertise

I am interested in the use of different neuroimaging techniques (MRI, EEG and LFP) to identify individual differences associated with gait and cognitive symptoms in Parkinson’s disease.  The goal is to find markers that could be used to personalise treatments in the future.
