I joined MMU in July 2019  as a Senior Lecturer for Design and Technology and became Head of ITE primary and secondary partnership in July 2020. 

Prior to joining MMU I had worked for over 28 years in secondary schools in Coventry, Staffordshire, Surrey and Cheshire.  During my time in schools, I worked as a teacher of Food and Textiles, Head of Design and Technology and  as an Assistant Headteacher in three schools.  I also spent several years as Head of Year and KS4 and have worked as a Team leader and principal examiner for Food and Nutrition.

In later years in schools I became a Specialist Leader of Education for ITE; Specialist Leader of Education for Design and Technology, Director of Teaching School and successfully wrote the application for provider status and gained accreditation as a  SCITT (School Centred Initial Teacher Training) provider where I became the Director.
