Jo Kennedy

My profile

Biography

I taught mathematics for seventeen years in secondary education where I experienced a variety of roles including both Pastoral and Head of Department responsibilities. Following that I worked in Stockport Local Authority in a consultancy capacity across secondary and special school settings, where most of my work involved providing effective CPD for teachers and working alongside them in the classroom.

I joined Manchester Met in 2009 in a part time capacity, whilst studying for my Masters qualification and now enjoy teaching on the BSc (Hons) Secondary Mathematics with QTS programme, as well as on the Secondary Mathematics PGCE and the Mathematics Enhancement courses.

Currently, I am part of the Realistic Maths Education (RME) team and am excited to be part of this innovative KS3 project, working with an experienced team to deliver high quality professional development using my knowledge and skills as a mathematics teacher and educator.
