Interprofessional education at Manchester Met
Developing your skills and ability to work in interprofessional teams.
Enhance your interprofessional learning
When things go wrong in health and social care practice, it’s often due to ineffective teamwork or a breakdown in communication among team members.
Interprofessional education (IPE) is an essential aspect of all undergraduate degrees within the Faculty of Health, Psychology and Social Care.
The programme, funded by Health Education England, provides students with the opportunity to improve collaboration and understanding of other professional roles by learning from each other from across all disciplines.
To support this, interprofessional education will help develop your communication and collaboration skills, strengthening your essential expertise to deliver better quality health and social care provision.
Birley Place
Birley Place is a virtual community, which enables our learners to explore the complexity of individuals and families lives, whilst working as a team to learn how to support health and social care services. Click 'Play' on the map to find out more. How we will facilitate your learning experience
Interprofessional education is integral to all units of study within each disciplinary programme and supports the completion of your unit assessments from your chosen degree.
Working in groups, you learning will be facilitated by a selection of cross-disciplinary academics using an action learning method.
This means you will share the leadership and facilitation of the group to work on the interprofessional tasks that are key to the programme.
