Bursary key information

Funding of up to £5,000 to support financially disadvantaged students looking to study an accountancy or finance postgraduate degree. Check if you’re eligible, and how to apply.

Aim of the bursary

This bursary is supported by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW). It aims to support talented but financially disadvantaged undergraduate degree holders who would like to study for an accountancy or finance-related postgraduate degree.

Check if you can apply

To apply, you must: 

  • hold a firm offer to study a new full-time course (excludes distance learning), on one of the following courses:
  • be a UK student (English, Scottish, Welsh, or Northern Irish) and have a UK Student Support Number. 
  • pay for your course yourself, including through a student loan or a payment from your parents. Your course fees must not be paid by a business, charity or other organisation. 
  • prove your gross income was £25,000 or less in the previous financial year. We’ll accept:
    • P60s 
    • student finance entitlement letters 
    • a self-employment tax return

  • complete the application form.

You must apply by 31 August 2024. We will not consider late applications.

If we get a lot of applications, we may ask you to do an interview. The interview will be online in September.
