Line manager and mentors’ information and workshops

To help managers and mentors understand their role in supporting an apprentice’s development and to find out more about the course, we schedule annual manager and mentor workshops.

These sessions include:

  • introduction to core team

  • introduction to the Manchester Met Apprenticeships Unit

  • overview of the course structure, content, delivery and assessment

  • the role of a workplace manager or mentor

  • supporting apprentice learners

  • engaging with the e-portfolio system

  • the opportunity to ask questions

The Spring 2024 session took place on 11 June 2024.

Apprentice timetables

Your apprentices will access their timetables through their Virtual Learning Environment, once they have enrolled.

Each unit and mode of assessment is supported by a specific skills session designed to help apprentices develop the skills required for completion of assessments.

2024/25 Timetables:

Apprenticeship standard

The apprenticeship standard provides the building blocks for our Senior Leader Apprenticeship. It is the blueprint for the development of our apprentices across the duration of the course. The standard will be used regularly during reviews as a point of reference, and we recommend that you familiarise yourself with its contents.

End-point assessment (EPA) guidance

The EPA is an integral component of the course. The degree will be achieved upon successful completion of this assessment. The end-point assessment organisation for this programme is the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD).

EPA consists of:

  • Method 1: Professional Discussion underpinned by Portfolio of Evidence (20 mins)
  • Method 2 - Component 1:  Project Proposal
  • Method 2 - Component 2: Presentation (of proposal) with questioning (40 mins)

The CIPD will provide documentation and support in relation to EPA and this section will be updated nearer to the EPA period.

If you require any of the above documents in a different format, please email us.
