End-point assessment (EPA)
All apprentices must undertake an EPA to complete their apprenticeship. This will usually take place around six weeks after they submit their final degree qualification assignment. The EPA is a holistic assessment of occupational competency, as outlined in the Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours (KSBs) listed in the apprenticeship standard. It will involve the completion of a synoptic work-based project and the production of a portfolio of evidence, which are both completed as part of the degree. Apprentices will also take part in a live assessment day involving a presentation and competency-based interview or professional discussion.
Resources to help you support your apprentices to prepare for end-point assessment will be made available through the e-portfolio and linked to from these Resources pages where required. You will also be invited to attend a webinar to help your apprentice(s) prepare and have the opportunity to attend a mock EPA with your apprentice.
