You play a crucial role in supporting your apprentice’s learning and identifying opportunities for the development of their skills. We are keen for you to play an active role in the apprenticeship, so please bookmark this page as it is regularly updated.

Apprenticeship standard and assessment information  

The apprenticeship standard provides the building blocks of our Laboratory Scientist Degree Apprenticeship. It is the blueprint for the development of our apprentices across the duration of the course. The standard will be used regularly during reviews as a point of reference, and we recommend that you familiarise yourself with its contents.

Apprentice timetables  

  • Induction 23-24 September 2024 (Year 1 and direct entry second years only)
  • Mini-residential 5-6 November 2024 (Year 1 only)
  • Annual residential 20-24 January 2025 (all four years)

Your apprentices will access their timetables through their Virtual Learning Environment, once they have enrolled.

End-point assessment (EPA) guidance 

The EPA is an integral component of the course. The degree will be achieved upon successful completion of this assessment. 

The EPA is designed in collaboration with employers and applies to all organisations delivering this apprenticeship.
