Manchester Met rated leading university provider of degree apprenticeships for a fourth year
The University was named fourth in a list of the top 50 training providers at the RateMyApprenticeship Awards, the highest ranked university on this year’s list.
The list celebrates training providers who have gone above and beyond in their delivery of apprenticeship qualifications. It is based solely on students’ reviews of their apprenticeships through the RateMyApprenticeship website.
Liz Gorb, Director of Apprenticeships at Manchester Met, said:
“We are proud to be named the top higher education provider in the country for our degree apprenticeship provision, for the fourth year in a row. These awards are particularly special to us, as they have been voted for by the apprentices themselves. It is fantastic recognition of the quality of our courses and experience of our learners.
“We are delighted to have been rated in the top ten providers for four consecutive years. The team, and our provision, have grown significantly since we launched in 2015 and these awards are evidence that the high quality we strive for is being maintained.
“Degree apprenticeships make an incredible impact on people’s lives and careers. Our courses offer leading academic learning and on-the-job training, delivering exceptional results both at university and in the workplace. We will continue working with our employer partners to upskill employees and address the skills gaps in a range of industries.”
Manchester Met has received almost 700 verified reviews on the RateMyApprenticeship website, with apprentices asked to rate both their provider and their employer. A Social Worker apprentice commented:
“I thoroughly enjoy my course. I have been very passionate about social work since being on the receiving end of services myself. The course is very informative and it’s amazing to be able to learn from my peers who come from a lot of different areas within social care.”
A Digital and Technology Solutions apprentice said:
“I learned a lot about cloud-based work and programming. I’ve also learned about the corporate areas of the business and how they interact with the tech-based sectors and how they go hand-in-hand to benefit the business.
“The university lecturers are really good, and you’ll go from knowing nothing on a subject to knowing all about it quite quickly. All in all, it’s a really enjoyable experience.”
Thirty of Manchester Met’s partner employers were also shortlisted in the Top 100 Employers category of the awards, up from 25 last year.
Manchester Met has been a leading provider of Degree Apprenticeships since 2015, with more than 2,000 degree apprentices on courses, from 540 employer partners.
