Christopher Quinlan KC returns to campus to support the next generation
Christopher graduated from Manchester Metropolitan University (‘the Poly’), in 1990, before going on to have an accomplished career as a criminal, sports, and regulatory law silk. He practises from Guildhall Chambers, Bristol and Farrar’s Building, Temple and is a very experienced trial advocate and Crown Court Recorder.
In his talk to students, Christopher discussed the different aspects of his position. This included his role appearing before and chairing numerous sport disciplinary bodies and panels, as well as being the Independent Judicial Panel Chair for both World Rugby and the Football Association. He gave examples of cases he has worked on and displayed the huge variety of issues he can deal with over the space of a week.
Christopher remarked on how much the campus has changed since his time as a student, commenting on how lucky students are to have the Moot Court on campus, and proudly speaking about being the first member of his family to go to university. He encouraged students by sharing his advice for a successful career, saying hard work, determination and building meaningful relationships were critical in getting him to where he is today.
