The Manchester Metropolitan University committee structure consists of three strands that share responsibility for the character, organisation and function of the University: Board of Governors, Academic Board and University Executive Group.

Student Representation

Student Representation is an important part of the University’s committee system from Students’ Union Officers on Board of Governors and Academic Board to the Course Representatives attendance at Programme-level meetings. Each level of the committee structure works closely with the Students’ Union to ensure appropriate representation. Examples where there are student positions on the membership of University Committees, Boards and Groups include:

  • Education Committee
  • Estate Strategy Group
  • Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Strategy Board
  • Faculty Education, Internationalisation and Research and Innovation Committees
  • Health and Safety Committee
  • Internationalisation Committee
  • Research Degrees Committee
  • Sustainability Strategy Group
