My top tip for students
Try lots of different jobs, try lots of different industries, be willing to work hard and work your way up. You will eventually get to where you want but it may be via a route you’ve never considered. It’s a highly competitive market, you need to stand out and show you’re flexible, adaptable and capable.
What skills gained at university have you used most in your career?
I’ve probably used every module of my events course at some point. From HR to marketing, from health and safety to finance – I’ve used it all. I’d say the skills I use the most, however, are marketing and presenting; I now train hundreds of people and I started by presenting my ideas to tutors.
What did you enjoy most while studying at Manchester Met?
Although I found it harder than I expected, I really enjoyed the course. I also had some amazing experiences and met some great friends while studying at Manchester Met.
