Interests and expertise
I completed my degree at Manchester Polytechnic (now Manchester Man Met) and commenced my first graduate job in London working for a new and quickly expanding event agency - working on large corporate events world wide. After 10 years and having reached a senior level within the company, I moved ‘up north’ and accepted the role as Incentive and Event Director for NWS Bank (part of the bank of Scotland group) This job involved extensive world wide travel and delivery of events from 2-3 week overseas high profile group incentive travel to exhibitions to conferences and one off events.
After 22 years in an operational role within industry I made the decision to enter the world of academia - to share my knowledge, passion and expertise of such an amazing industry to work in with future event managers - the rest is history!
Projects
I have been involved in MMU international educational collaborative projects. In 2011, in Kenya with Educational Projects, in Africa, sponsored by the British Council where she had specific responsibility for organising an educational conference. In 2012 I was project manager within ‘Hollings’ China team’ with a specific role of event logistics for the programme and one day exhibition.
