PlayStation Career Pathways Program Scholarships

Introduction
Undergraduate scholarship
Funding of up to £15,000 for undergraduate students with Black, Asian or minority ethnic heritage. Check if you’re eligible, and how to apply.
- Value: £5,000 per year for a maximum of 3 years
- Study level: Undergraduate new, full-time students in their first year only

You can only apply for this scholarship if we’ve offered you a place at Manchester Met.
Deadlines for applying:
- If we offer you a place, you must apply for the scholarship by 31 August 2024.
Postgraduate scholarship
Funding of up to £10,000 for postgraduate students with Black, Asian or minority ethnic heritage. Check if you’re eligible, and how to apply.
- Value: Awarded against tuition fees for one year (maximum of £10,000)
- Study level: Postgraduate new, full-time students only

You can only apply for this scholarship if we’ve offered you a place at Manchester Met.
You must apply for the scholarship by 31 August 2024.
Aim of the scholarship
Supported by Sony Interactive Entertainment, the PlayStation Career Pathways Program aims to increase diversity in the gaming industry. It offers undergraduate and postgraduate students from Black, Asian and minority ethnic backgrounds financial support as well as a range of career development opportunities throughout their course.
Check if you can apply
Undergraduate
To apply you must:
- hold a firm offer to study a new full-time course (excludes foundation year and distance learning), on one of the following courses:
- be from a Black, Asian, or minority ethnic background.
- be a UK student (English, Scottish, Welsh, or Northern Irish) paying fees of £9,250 and have a UK Student Support Number.
- pay for your course yourself, including through a student loan or a payment from your parents. Your course fees must not be paid by a business, charity or other organisation.
- have a household income of £25,000 or less. We’ll check this against your Student Finance application. Please contact us if you will not be applying to Student Finance for a maintenance loan.
Postgraduate
To apply you must:
- hold a firm offer to study a new full-time course (excludes foundation year and distance learning), on one of the following courses:
- be from a Black, Asian, or minority ethnic background.
- be a UK student (English, Scottish, Welsh, or Northern Irish) and have a UK Student Support Number.
- pay for your course yourself, including through a student loan or a payment from your parents. Your course fees must not be paid by a business, charity or other organisation.
- prove your gross income was £25,000 or less in the previous financial year. We’ll accept:
- P60s
- Student Finance Entitlement Letters
- A self-employment tax return

How to apply
You’ll need to:
- complete the application form. Applications open on 1 January 2024.
- postgraduate applicants must upload financial evidence for the 2023/24 tax year.
You must apply for the scholarship by the 31 August 2024. We will not consider late applications.
If we get a lot of applications, we may ask you to do an interview.
Successful undergraduate and postgraduate PlayStation Career Pathways scholars will also be invited to apply to the employability fund established as part of the program. The fund provides scholars with additional financial support to undertake activities that support the development of career and employability skills.
