How to pay your postgraduate tuition fees
There are three ways to pay:
- fund the course yourself
- take out a postgraduate loan
- get a sponsor or employer to pay
For advice about scholarships, our alumni discount and available bursaries and grants, check out how to fund your postgraduate course.
Fund the course yourself
If you pay your own tuition fees, you can either:
- pay in full before or at enrolment
- or join one of our instalment schemes
You can choose how to pay during online enrolment or by contacting the Finance Service Centre.
Paying in full
If you are paying in full, we accept:
Paying in instalments
If you’re a UK student, you do not need to pay a tuition fee deposit.
Your tuition fees can be paid in three instalments, usually in October, January and April.
If you enrol online, you can choose whether to pay by:
- automatic credit or debit card payments
- Direct Debit
After enrolment, you can arrange to be invoiced and make individual payments by contacting the Finance Service Centre.
Take out a loan
If you’ve applied for a loan in Northern Ireland or Scotland, your loan payments are sent directly to us.
If you’ve applied for a postgraduate loan in England or Wales, you’ll be asked to set up an automatic card payment when you create your instalment plan.
You’ll get a confirmation letter and invoice from Student Finance indicating your payment dates.
If these differs from the Manchester Met payment plan, please amend your instalment dates by emailing pgloan@mmu.ac.uk. This will prevent your fees from becoming overdue.
If your tuition fees are being paid by an employer or other sponsor, they must email studentbillings@mmu.ac.uk to confirm they will pay before you can enrol.
