The University of Bergen (UiB) is an internationally recognised research university - it is the most cited university in Norway.
There are seven faculties at UiB and close to 18,500 students at the university, of which around 2,000 are from outside Norway.
The university has most of its premises concentrated in two areas. Natural sciences and the humanities and arts are taught alongside other subjects at Nygårdshøyden, a mixture of houses, shops and academic buildings.
Årstadvollen is the health campus, where dentistry, medicine and health-care lie close to the university’s clinics.
