Studying at Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences (AUAS) means the city is your classroom. AUAS students and lecturers work closely with local and national organisations and sectors, to develop innovative solutions to challenges facing our city. 

Amsterdam is very diverse - it’s home to people from 181 nations and English is widely spoken. However, if you want to learn Dutch whilst you’re here, there are many options you can choose from. You can take a crash ‘survival’ course, a beginners programme or even more advanced multi-week courses at A1 level.

Radboud University is a truly international institution, with students from all over the world. Dutch and foreign students participate together on the many international programmes, giving you a chance to integrate better. The diverse university population helps reinforce Radboud’s common objective: to achieve the highest possible standard of education and research.

According to the Dutch university information guide (Keuzegids Universiteiten 2020), Radboud University is the best traditional university in the Netherlands.  Students score the university an 8.0 (out of 10) and their programme a 7.7(National Student Survey 2019).

The Willem de Kooning Academy aims to create a setting in which students can develop and broaden their interests. Students can choose different ways of working, the type of assignment that suits them best and even the style of learning and how to develop their talent.

The international student population at Saxion has increased dramatically in recent years, and is expected to continue to grow. The total currently stands at 3,500 students from outside of the Netherlands, 14% of the overall student population.

Education at Saxion is centred around helping students to develop professional skills. As a student, you are very much responsible for your own approach to studying, although of course tutors and lecturers are always available to help and advise you.
