This unit will provide participants with the opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge and application of pedagogical principles underpinning the development of STEL in healthcare innovations, facilitation and debriefing for learning, teaching, assessment and research purposes.
The unit will require participants to practically demonstrate an evidence-based approach to STEL in healthcare design, facilitation and debriefing.

This course is intended forUK and International clinicians, healthcare workers, clinical educators, managers and lecturers in academia involved in, or considering the provision of Simulation and Technology Enhanced Learning (STEL) in healthcare.

This unit will cover:
On successful completion of this unit students will be able to:
1. Demonstrate a comprehensive and critical understanding of the educational principles of STEL in healthcare innovations, including, where applicable, the design, facilitation and debriefing associated with the innovation.
2. Develop an evidence-based STEL in healthcare innovation (using, where appropriate, a relevant standardised scenario design template) including pre-requisite learning activities, pre-brief, learning outcomes, facilitatory guidance, debrief guidance and post-event reflection activities.
3. Demonstrate the practical application of their own purposely developed STEL in healthcare innovation.
4. Critically defend their choice of pre-requisite learning activities, pre-brief, learning outcomes, facilitatory guidance, debrief guidance and post-event reflection activities specified in their STEL in healthcare innovation.
Ten weeks
Applicants must be qualified health or social care professionals, and hold a first degree at 2.2 classification or above and work in a health and/or social care environment.
The standard course fee is £1056.

Programme or Modular?

Application Form
Once you have decided whether to apply for a programme or modular study, complete and return an MMU Application Form.
HE Co-operative Application
All applications for prescribing courses require an additional application form available to complete at http://www.hecooperative.co.uk/ . You should download and complete this form and return it to MMU Admissions via email (directapplications@mmu.ac.uk).
Receipt of Applications
Once MMU has received both your MMU and HE Co-operative applications, your details will be passed to the academic lead for consideration.
We will notify you of the outcome of your application as soon as possible.
Enrolment
If your application has been successful, you will receive an invitation to enroll. At this stage you will be able to choose how you will pay your fees - a number of payment options are available.
All applicants will require a recent (within 3 years of commencing the course) DBS check at enhanced disclosure level to meet professional body requirements. This must be shown at registration. Additional documentation relating to the DBS check must also be completed; this will be sent to all successful applicants.

2) Application Form
Once you have decided whether to apply for a programme or modular study, complete and return an MMU Application Form. You do not need to state at this stage who will fund the course, but you may wish to confirm with your sponsor that they still intend to fund you.
On receipt, your application will be passed to the academic course leader for consideration. MMU will notify you of the outcome as soon as possible.
3) Enrolment
If your application has been successful, you will receive an invitation to enrol. At this stage you will need to present confirmation of your funding. This should take the form of a funding letter from your sponsor, printed on company headed letter paper. The confirmation should include your details, the course(s) for which your sponsor will fund you, the dates of the courses and the full fee amount that will be sponsored. The letter should be signed by an authorised signatory.
