Accommodation Managed by Manchester Met 23-24
Below is a list of some of the key terms for students wishing to live in accommodation managed by Manchester Met from September 2022. This list does not contain all the terms and reading it should not replace a careful review of the full Terms and Conditions of Residence 2023/24.
What you are getting
A self-catered room in one of the following:
- En-suite (Archway, Briarfield, Birley Dunham, Birley Vine, Cambridge, Needham Court, Oxford Court)
- Plus (Cambridge, Cavendish, Oxford Court)
- Premium (Cambridge)
- Standard (Briarfield, Cavendish, Cambridge)
- Studio (Cavendish, Needham Court)
- Townhouse (Birley Naylor, Birley Dale, Birley Warde)
Your contract period
When living in accommodation managed by Manchester Met, your contract period will be for the standard contract, contracts lengths for later arrivals vary depending on arrival date.

- £200 is payable to secure your accommodation. This is not a refundable deposit, but a pre-payment of rent, which is an advanced payment towards the annual fee, the balance to be paid as outlined in the application process.
- You have agreed to a legally binding contract and your rent must be paid for the full contractual period. Even if you move out, you will be liable for the full rent unless a suitable replacement licensee is found.
International applicants:
- £1,500 is payable to secure your accommodation. This is not a refundable deposit, but a pre-payment of rent, which is an advanced payment towards the annual fee, the balance to be paid as outlined in the application process..
- You have agreed to a legally binding contract and your rent must be paid for the full contractual period. Even if you move out, you will be liable for the full rent unless a suitable replacement licensee is found.
Conduct with respect to others
- You must behave with respect and consideration to other residents, staff and your neighbours.
- You must behave in accordance with the Terms and Conditions of Residence 2023/24 and the Student Code of Conduct.
- You must not do anything to damage or put at risk the accommodation (your study room and the communal areas).
Any damage caused in your study room and/or the communal areas of your accommodation, may result in you being charged for repairs or replacements.
- You must be enrolled as a full-time student at Manchester Met University.
