A round-up of when you can access our services over summer

For most students this academic year is coming to an end, but many of our services and buildings will remain open over the summer period.

Below is a round-up of our summer break opening hours.

Student Hubs

The Student Hubs will be open as normal (Monday – Friday, 9am-4.30pm) throughout the summer months.

You can also access the Digital Student Hub 24/7, where you will find responses to hundreds of FAQ’s.

The Library

The Library will be extending its summer opening hours. From Friday 30 June, the Library will be open during the following times:

Monday to Friday: 9am - 10pm 
Saturdays: 11am - 5pm
Sunday: 11am - 5pm

Campus Security

Our Security team is available all year round of you need support on campus. Call 0161 247 2222 or get in touch via the SafeZone App.

Mental health and wellbeing support

The counselling, Mental Health and Wellbeing Service will remain open as usual.

You can also access:

·       Self-Help wellbeing pages

·       Togetherall – our free 24/7 wellbeing and mental health support platform 

·       Wellbeing podcasts

·       Report + Support – if you experience any form of discrimination, hate crime or sexual violence

If you are at immediate risk of harming yourself or others, call 999 and ask for an ambulance.

If the situation is serious but not an emergency, you can:

·       Call Samaritans 116 123 (free to call, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year)

·       Text SHOUT to 85258. SHOUT provides text-based crisis support

·       Call the Greater Manchester Mental Health Helpline on 0800 953 0285 (open 24/7)

·       Contact your GP to ask for an emergency appointment or call NHS 111

Study Support

Our Academic and Study Skills, Inclusion, and Disability Support teams will be available as normal during the summer months.

You can also access:

·       Study Skills Moodle area

Prayer rooms/Chaplaincy

Our prayer rooms are based in Cavendish Brooks and John Dalton. See the building information below for the summer opening times.

The Well scheme delivered by St Peter’s House provides digital resources and support, and you can also refer yourself or a friend for a food pack on The Well website.

Accommodation

We will contact you directly with move out arrangements if you live in University-owned accommodation. Please email: [email protected] if you have any queries.

Take all your belongings with you or make sure any unwanted items are disposed of appropriately – or better still, donate to charity via our ‘Give it Don’t Bin it’ campaign.
