My profile
Biography
I have been a Senior Lecturer within the Law School since 2022. Prior to joining the Law School I was an in-house lawyer for Lancashire Constabulary specialising in operational policing and representing the force in various courts across a range of matters. I advised on the full gamut of criminal cases from high level matters such as murder, serious fraud and misconduct in public office, to anti-social behaviour and public nuisance. I also appeared in judicial review proceedings, inquests and various regulatory tribunal cases.
I studied the LLB at Newcastle University and obtained an LLM in European Law and Policy from the University of Manchester. I then studied the (what was then known as) the BVC at Northumbria University before being called to the Bar at Gray’s Inn in 2003.
I teach criminal law and evidence and also provide support to students as a personal tutor. I teach on various programmes from foundation level up to post-graduate and professional qualifications and am also Joint Employability Lead.
