Jobs4Students Student Worker of the Year Awards 2020

With a total of 61 nominations submitted for the awards, encompassing a total of 216 students and 14 members of staff, Jobs4Students have announced their winners for Student Worker of the Year Awards 2020.

Being selected, out of all the students working through Jobs4Students to be nominated is a fantastic achievement, and we would like to say a massive congratulations to all our nominees, and especially those winning their category awards.

Hiring Managers for the student working were asked to nominate students across four categories, with all nominations being entered for the overall Student Worker of the Year Award. The categories were:

  • Above and Beyond
  • Step Up to Leadership
  • Commercial Impact
  • Best Team

In 2020, there were a total of 61 nominations submitted for the awards, encompassing a total of 216 students and 14 members of staff.

The judging for Jobs4Students Awards was carried out by the Jobs4Students team, and proved to be challenging, with so many strong nominations! In each category, up to two nominations were selected as being Highly Commended and one Winner.

And the winners are:

  • Above and Beyond Winner: Saskia Newcombe, Widening Participation Ambassador
    Highly commended:
     - Emma Rothwell, PrintCity Student Support Ambassador
     - Steven Taylor, Residential Advisor
  • Step Up to Leadership Winner: Thomas Ibbott, Student Ambassador
    Highly commended:
    Jack Cornwell, Sport League Coordinator
    Tracey Williams, Research Assistant
  • Commercial Impact Winner: Simran Nota, Database Administrator
    Highly commended:
    - Muazzam Zafar, - Research Assistant (Electrical & Electronic Engineer)
  • Best Team Winner: Carbon Literacy Trainers
    Highly commended:
    - HPSC/Education Peer Assisted Learning Scheme Leaders
    - EPIB Peer Assisted Learning Scheme Leaders
  • Employer Winner: Neil Wilson, Nursing Senior Lecturer (Nursing Interview Support Ambassadors’ hiring manager)
    Highly commended:
    - Helen Lord, Transition & Peer Support Manager (First Generation Ambassadors’ hiring manager)
    - Jane Mork, Senior Research Assistant (Carbon Literacy Trainers’ hiring manager)
