This year, prizes have been awarded across all four faculties and are vital recognition of the hard work that our students put into their studies. They are also a testament to the commitment to providing an excellent education and a great university experience at Manchester Metropolitan University, which transforms our students lives and leads to successful careers.

In addition to 658 Scholars who have benefitted from a Scholarship, Fellowship or Bursary this academic year, we are delighted that 42 students have been awarded a donor-funded prize which recognises their outstanding achievements this year.

Many of our prizes are In Memoriam and therefore act as a poignant legacy to alumni, former staff, and students; and we also have a range of prizes which are supported by corporate organisations who wish to support Manchester Met students:

Below are quotes from just some of this years talented winners:

Receiving this award has filled me with an overwhelming sense of accomplishment. It’s an affirmation that all the hard work, dedication, and perseverance I’ve invested in my young chemistry career have not only been worthwhile but have also been acknowledged in a significant and meaningful way. Knowing that others believe in my potential has boosted my self-confidence and encouraged me to set higher goals for myself. It has reminded me that I have the potential to make a positive impact, and I am now more committed than ever to using my talents and abilities to contribute to my community and beyond.
Marwaan, BSC(Hons) Pharmaceutical Chemistry - 2024 Jeff Ding Chemistry Prize Recipient
Designing for inclusivity is a global necessity and through this prize project, we learned the significance of being a humane designer. This award has provided us a glimpse into the lives of millions who struggle to navigate everyday items, and it reinforces our commitment to creating solutions that make the world more accessible for everyone.
Group quote from Vidhi, Yasemin and Aalia - 2024 PAC IOU Award Recipients
As a second-year student studying interior design at Manchester Met, receiving the Pamela Ryland award has been an extremely encouraging experience. Having my passion and love for my course recognised, only motivates me further to continue to work hard at my degree and get the most out of every moment at the university. The support that you feel from the lecturers and the staff at the university is unmatched, and that unwavering support makes you feel like you can and will achieve every goal that you set yourself.
Molly, BA (Hons) Interior Design, 2nd Year - 2024 Pamela Ryland Prize Recipient
Receiving The Richard Hudson Prize for the best performing digital student is a testament to not only my hard work and dedication throughout my university journey, but also to the extensive support given to me by the hardworking staff within the Business Technology course.
Thank you to the donors of my prize for making this recognition possible and for investing in the future of students like me.
Oliver, BSc Business Technology, 2024 - Recipient of the 2024 Richard Hudson Prize for Best Digital Student
Receiving this award is validation of the hard work I put in across my time, both at university and throughout my life, studying music.
I remember being captivated by the Tony Wilson legend as a young musician. He is the reason that much of my favourite music exists, and his perspective on music and life continues to entertain and motivate me. His impact on music and culture broadly remains unforgotten, and I am honoured to receive an award in his name.
Alec, BA (Hons) Music and Sound Design - 2024 Revolver Records Anthony Wilson Prize for excellence in Popular Music Recipient
This prize is a great encouragement for young architecture students like me. The construction industry is not an easy job, and all kinds of difficulties will make young students doubt themselves, and even maybe give up. But thanks to donor-funded prizes, we young students have gained the confidence and courage to carry on.
Zhuoran, MA Architecture and Urbanism - 2024 Urban Splash Award for Design Innovation Recipient, First Prize

Thank you again to all our friends, donors, and alumni for your support throughout the last academic year. We look forward to the 2024/25 academic year and continuing to share how philanthropy continues to make an impact at Manchester Met.
