Manchester Metropolitan University Business School has been awarded the prestigious EQUIS accreditation – a renowned international benchmark of excellence for business schools.

This important recognition moves the Business School into an elite group of schools worldwide and is further testament to the School’s high standards of teaching and research, which are at the heart of its mission to transform lives, businesses and communities.

Having already gained the AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) and AMBA (Association of MBAs) awards, the Business School now holds a prestigious trio of accreditations, placing it among the very best worldwide.

Professor Julia Clarke, Pro-Vice Chancellor of the Faculty of Business and Law at Manchester Metropolitan, said: “Becoming triple accredited is a fantastic achievement. The accreditation process has seen us reflect on our connections with businesses and communities, our role as an ethical and globally engaged institution and our contribution to a sustainable future.

“Our accreditations are evidence of the transformative education experience we provide for our students and convey how we use our in-depth knowledge and ground-breaking research to positively impact businesses and communities.”

Professor Malcolm Press, Vice Chancellor of Manchester Metropolitan, said: “The award of EQUIS accreditation is a huge vote of confidence in the excellence of our Business School.

“It recognises our success in working with regional, national and international partners to generate outstanding opportunities, enabling our students, and stakeholders, to make a positive impact. It ensures we will deliver internationally-recognised, high-quality courses that meet the needs of businesses large and small, driving sustainable growth and productivity.”

Run by the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD), EQUIS accreditation benchmarks Manchester Metropolitan Business School against international standards for education, research, ethics, responsibility and sustainability and engagement with practice. It covers all activities, including degree and non-degree programmes, knowledge generation and contribution to the community.

The Business School has been awarded the EQUIS accreditation for three years, and will use the final report from the visiting panel to drive further improvements and higher standards in all its activity.
